BMS stands for Battery Management System.
It is a system used to manage and monitor the battery pack, by monitoring the battery status, control the charge and discharge process, protect the battery safety and other functions to ensure the safe, stable and efficient operation of the battery pack. BMS is commonly used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, aerospace and other fields.
The Battery Management System (BMS) is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the battery pack, including but not limited to the following:
Battery status monitoring: Monitors the voltage, current, temperature, State of Charge (SOC), and State of Health (SOH) of the battery string.
Charge and discharge control: manage the charge and discharge process of the battery pack, including charge rate, charge cut-off voltage, discharge cut-off voltage, etc.
Temperature management: Monitor the temperature of the battery pack and take heat dissipation or heating measures as required to ensure that the battery works within a safe temperature range.
Equalization control: Equalize each cell in the battery pack to ensure that the voltage and capacity between them are consistent, and improve the performance and life of the battery pack.
Safety protection: Monitor the working status of the battery pack, and take protective measures to prevent safety accidents when abnormal conditions (such as overcharge, overdischarge, short circuit, etc.) are found.
Data recording and analysis: Record the working parameters and historical data of the battery pack for analysis and evaluation to provide a basis for battery management and optimization.
Communication interface: Communication with other systems or equipment, such as vehicle control systems, energy management systems, etc., to achieve data transmission and collaborative control.
